course objectives

Upon Completion of the course, the participant will be able to:
  • Describe updated diabetic foot care based on evidence from the literature
  • Identify current approaches in the surgical management of amputees
  • Understand prosthetic components and use evidence-based knowledge to discuss indications and advantages of various prosthetic devices
  • Identify appropriate clinical problem solving strategies for gait training
  • Provide appropriate clinical treatment for hip disarticulation and bilateral amputees
  • Describe the biomechanics of higher level activities and develop strategies to help amputees participate

Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Athletic Trainers, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapist Assistants, Prosthetists and Physiatrists.
